Spring Cleaning tips?

Hello everyone, as the weather will be breaking soon, we were wondering what everyone does for their spring clean ups? We have about 8-9 bales of straw that we spread throughout the winter in the run and want to start cleaning it up soon. What does eveyone do with the straw when removing it from the run? Can it be used in the garden? How do you dispose of it? Any other spring cleaning tips when transitioning from winter to spring time? I use all my duckmess straw in the garden. Some of it I throw on compost piles (I have several huge ones) and some I use in my garden paths and inbetween veggie plants to keep weeds down.
