Last spring we got 10-11 eggs daily from 14 hens. This yr we're getting 4-6 from 12. How can I increase the production. These hens are only Averaging 2 yrs old

Have you switched their feed? Maybe they are laying in bushes? Are they free range? I had a similar problem and found out it was their feed. I highly recommend Scratch and Peck Naturally Free Organic Layer feed.

Welcome to BYC!
Could be many things.
They may lay fewer but bigger eggs their second spring/summer of laying.
If you free range they maybe laying out in range area, they are very good at hiding nests.
If it's very hot where you live, that can slow down laying too.
They could also be slowing down to begin molting, it's kind of early yet, but not unprecedented.

We live at 6,000' so not super hot, and they are not free range. I've been around chickens for yes and you're right, really to early for molting. But....that was my guess! Thanks.
