Spring is almost here, you know what that means!!!

With spring right around the corner and I know all of us northerners/easterners are so ready for nice weather. And with spring means chicks! So with that being said and the new coop so close to being done i need some help with breeds! I have picked some out that i like and i need some input on them.

Buff Orpington (had one)
Chocolate Orpington
Jersey Splash
Jersey Gem
Jersey Blue
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.

I haven’t done much research on these breeds. I want ones that lay good eggs, and are good in cold weather! Let me know what y’all think!

The only great reliable layer in that list is the buff Orpington as long as they are hatchery quality. The rest are hit and miss and go broody in my experiences.

Dang :/ We’re only planning on getting 3 because we have 3 hens now and my bf wants at least 6 I might do another buff orpington, chocolate orpington and let him pick one
