Well, Loren did well at the youth fair. Not as well as he likes to do, but good enough. He did not get showmanship champion but we really close. He just didn't speak up enough and was distracted a little by another boy in the group. He did ask the judge why he didn't get champion though. that was very brave of him. Also, he did well with his old rooster as his little hen he had been practicing with died on Wednesday. He was very upset about that. So, good ol' Sarge did his best and was a good boy.
For the breed show birds, we only brought d'Anvers this time. We have had some bad luck with the Welsummer flock and I am now down to only 2 left. But the d'Anvers did well. We got 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a third. Loren also won $12.50. Pretty good day over all.
