springtime post your new chick pics

Thiought I'd get in on this now that the babies are outside...

The BRs decided to climb the roost and check out the nesting boxes.

4 of the older girls - 10 weeks - RIR and 3 NHRs

The other 2 RIRs - the one in front is Lucy, the alpha hen - she's very friendly, but also very protective

One of the big girls got in this, but there are my 3 Ameracaunas - and Maggie, our miracle Buckeye. There were 3 of them, but I had put them in the henhouse too soon, and a major thunderstorm/cold front took 2 away - Maggie wasn't in great shape, but the wife and I nursed her a few days, and she's doing very well!

This young lady decided to jump onto my arm while I was taking pictures!

Close-up of Maggie - still the runt, but she holds her own!

Now I just need to complete the run, and they'll really be enjoying themselves!

They look a lot like my white plymouth rocks- almost identical actually- maybe that is what they are??
No clue on breed. These are my first chicks and I didn't know until joining this forum there are 84750281 breeds.

I'll wait until they're older to ask in the breeds area.

First day out, yesterday! They loved it.

I'll get better photos of just them later. This pic was for friends and family. I can't tell them apart yet but once I can we'll name them.

Hey, Peach!

I noticed numbers written on your eggs. Is that the day of the month you pulled them? I'm curious because I'm thinking about doing minor breeding, and researching the ins and outs - having too much fun raising the chicks, and seriously think I want to raise a couple breeds from the git-go!

And how in the world, with several breeds involved, are you sure who laid what? Or do you have them segregated by breed?
