No but ok a modem is used for a computer to access internet signal, right? So its just giving your phone better connection. Sorry lol, im clueless

I really have no way to explain it except its wireless internet lol

It's the same thing as a cel phone that you plug into your computer. It's uses the cellular network instead of phone lines to access the internet.
