I'm needing black bearded silkie eggs if somebody wants to swap for some splash or paint silkie eggs. Both pens are SQ. My paint boy won 1st place in a show 2 weeks ago and the splash is going to the next show this saturday. In my paint pen I have 4 black bearded silkie hens and 2 paint hens. One of the black hens was in a show last year and won 2nd place. She is the daughter to the oldest hen. I would have taken her instead but she was in moult. I got both the splash roo and paint boy from Bobbi Porto along with one of the paint hens. The other paint hen came reesepoultry. The older black hen came from eggs I hatched from cjsilkies and the other 3 are her daughters (the hen's daughters). The roos are unrelated to the hens. My splash hens I bought the 2 older ones locally and hatched the 3rd from their eggs.

I just wanted to say that the 20.00 rule sounds great. But, Is there anyway to add line names in to the post. If you do not have line names, maybe show standings from your birds or the line of the birds?

That is a good idea. I know for me I have been raising several of my breeds for several years and I would consider the lines mine, but if I get birds directly from a breeder I don't mind saying who I got them from.

I heave heard that after 4 years you can consider a line yours? Is that true? I would imagine it could be, with culling and proper management, just wondering though.
Just a question, do you still have Sebrights?

Several breeders I know say after you pick what birds to breed together and get your own chicks then it is your own line. Most of the breeds I have I call them my own line because I don't have any the original birds I started with and I have added other birds into the group over the years.

I thought I would give some feedback on eggs I have received from the SQ Swaps.

Sebrightmom- 4 Turkey Eggs claimed/ 4 Received Packed very very well. 4/4 Developing.

Pidgey104 - 6 Call Ducks Claimed/ 6 Received 6/6 cooking Packed very well :O)

OSUMan - 4 China eggs claimed/ 6 Received 6/6 cooking Super packing! :O)

Rbaker0345 - 20.00 PP claimed x2 Both Paid


Also to give an update on The Heritage PBR. They started laying, then we had another cold front come through, snow and all... they have gone back to sporadic laying again. I have tested fertility on them and of the 5 eggs I set all 5 are developing very nicely.

It is still real early on the duck and the goose eggs, but so far so good.

I am a bit swap addicted so I cannot wait for it to get rolling. lol
