If she only has 1 pair of birds I would suggest you look elsewhere for eggs. You want to buy from someone who has enough silkies who can lay a dozen eggs in 3 days, I don't like to buy nor will sell any eggs to someone that are older than 3 days when they are put in a box to ship out.
Also if you want to invest in SQ birds or eggs from SQ flock (even the best SQ birds are not going to produce all Show quality offspring, so just because someone says SQ eggs - its honestly meaning eggs from SQ lines/birds )
There are many folks on BYC who are great breeders of silkies and sell chicks or eggs. Word of advice, take your time and shop around, don't just jump right into it. Ask for pictures of adult birds these eggs will come from so you can get an idea of what you might be hatching out.
Good luck. Also 2$ an egg is not expensive at all honestly, I have seen a dozen silkie eggs from a top line of whites go for 120$ thats 10$ an egg!!! But realistically I've seen a lot of breeders of good stock that range in the 25-50$ a dozen + shipping which should be what you should expect to pay at the minimum.

It was already mentioned, check out your breeder. If this person only has one pair of birds and knows next to nothing about them then she probably doesn't really know what constitutes a show quality bird.
I don't know if anyone made this point or not, just because the birds are show quality does not mean the chicks they produce will be any where near show quality.
Begin to rethink the direction you need to go in. If you are just wanting a pair of Silkies there are reputable breeders out there that can sell you birds they don't want to use in their breeding programs for a very reasonable price. There are Silkie breeders in E. TN. Some are absolutely the best people, others are questionable. Just like happens any where in the world.

Just another thought.......... Just because she may have a show quality pair "considering they have place in a major show and she is worthy of using that title", does not mean that you will hatch show quality offspring. Your batting about 5 out 100 chicks born that will be show quality, if that many.
You would have to buy one egg at a time from someone that only has one pair. I would find another breeder that can offer more eggs in a reasonable time frame. There are several breeders on this forum that breed very nice birds.
