I have 6 baby tetra tints, interested in purchasing 6-10 more was curious how big of coop i should build and how big there run should be??? (will be a stationary walk in coop)

I'm betting you'll get a lot of "4 sq ft in the coop and 10 sq ft in the run" per bird recommendations from here... makes sense to me.

BTW: We are well off the "macadam" here where we are!!

Welcome and Good Luck!

The previous poster is correct from what I have been told also with my stationary coop/pen. You can see my coop under a post that is here asking for help regarding the sand and posted pics too. However, someone did post and recommended that I have 4 rather than 5 RIR's and she was spot on!!! I do not think for the size birds they are that I would have another. Can read the thread that I posted regarding chicken math. :-) Welcome to the forum! The folks here are fantastic!!!!

I agree, w/ the 4sq ft pre bird inside the coop, 10sq ft in the run IF you plan on keeping them in there for a long period of time--if you free range alot--you can get a way w/ a lot less room. BUT we have several days during the winter when my girls would be able to go out and I am so glad to have lots of room..

Probably spelled differently, but I was just referring to "off the pavement"; which we often call "macadam", like in your user name. Might have been more of a joke in my head; no offense...

Thanks for clarifying that John, thats a new one on me. lol I was like wow my first post and someone is already insulting me... can't be!!! lol

I'm so sorry! I would not say or do anything to be insulting; my mistake. I hope you accept my apology. I made a poor connection in my head and should not have typed it out.

I hope you do not let my mistake affect your experience here. These are great folks with loads of great advice that have helped me out and, I'm sure, can help you out, too.

Welcome and enjoy.
