Mine is a rectangular flat sweater box by Rubbermaid.
Yes, the crisper section or even the freezer. You want the seeds to retain their natural moisture content for better germination. If they dry out, germination is reduced by 1/3 to 1/2 the fresh rate. The dessicant packets are to keep out additional moisture that could cause molding.
Seeds for corn, beans, peas and okra can be frozen for several years and when thawed will have great germination. Annual and perennial seeds can be frozen also if they come up naturally for you outside where the winters hit freezing temps.

Who knew I could freeze my seeds?! Are there any seeds I shouldn't freeze? Can I used dessicant packets from shoeboxes and things, or do I need to buy fresh ones?

Reuse packets. Be sure your seeds are well dried before freezing them. Tropical seeds don't freeze well.
Run a test one any you aren't sure about. Put 10 seeds in the freezer for a month. Let them thaw and place in a moist papertowel inside a plastic zippie bag. Set this on top of your refridgerator (warm location) and check for sprouting. If nothing sprouts by the normal time alloted for sprouting those seeds...don't freeze them.

Thanks NanaKat. Now that everything's planted, I'll store the seeds in the freezer until I need them for second plantings.

Last week I planted a few of my seedlings that I had started indoors. We got a frost 2 nights in a row

I hope some survived. New Hampshire is so hard, it SEEMS so nice out that I itch to plant. Then I plant and regret it

I looked for a good plastic storage device when I was at the craft store last night witout finding JUST what I wanted. The search continues!

You may need to invest in some row covers to extend your growing season.

The one year that I planted before out last frost date (as per the Farmer Almanac) April 20th, I lost everything on April 19th!!

Row covers may be a good option. Can I purchase patience anywhere?

Update! Here are some pics of the new sprouts in my experimental hot chicken poo box. The sprouts are up and seem healthy as ever, no "burning" in sight

Looks good!

The chickens have discovered my garden. there is now a 4ft pastic fence around it. Will be finishing the one tractor tomorrow and then the other 2 when I split up the EE's. Need to get the Sebrights out of the brooder, have Gold ones coming on Saturday!

Tomatoes are setting flowers, I've got a little bitty jalepeno pepper on one plant, radish, snowpeas and bush beans popped through the soil. Still waiting on the gourds. We've had thunderstorms the last 2 days, seems to "recharge" everything. They look greener, talker, etc. Water from the house is nothing like rain from a thunderstorm!

I had pondered the idea of fencing my garden too, but the our yard is so small that it would be visually confining. So, I decided to try an automatic sprinkler..... AWESOME!!! Chickens are not fans
