Squatting?

Do all chickens squatt before they are getting ready to lay their first egg??

In my experience, the squatting means eggs will be coming real soon.

I have three that are laying, but only one has ever squatted. The squatting one was the first to lay (they are all the same age, but she started laying a month before the others), and also the top hen in the pecking order. Not sure if those factors are related at all.
