Does anyone have any better ideas for cleaning my coop?

Not sure how you clean it now, lol. My coop has a slanted concrete floor which I think makes cleaning easier. I just scoop out the hay and hose it down. We have a drainage ditch at the back of the concrete slab and everything runs into that and accumulates at the end. Then we scoop out and use for fertilizer as needed.

I use a shovel to get the majority of the mess out. Followed by a shop vac to get the rest of the mess out and to get most of the dust. Then I use a hose if necessary, but that isn't usually needed. The whole interior of my coop is heavily painted, so it is easy to clean, and the floor is covered in linoleum, which is also easy to clean. I took extra care when building this coop to make cleaning it up easy.

For spot cleaning, I shovel off the poo board, then throw used shavings from the floor onto it, and fresh shavings onto the floor.

For a deep clean, I empty everything out, and refresh the shavings. Every 2 months in the warm time of year I dust for bugs just to be paranoid. Into the cracks and corners and along the roost poles and such.

But I spot clean every other day, and a full clean once about every 2 months. Someone came to buy chicks from me last fall, she said it was the cleanest coop she's ever seen!

Just to change things up, I'm adding ducks and all their mess, still deciding how I'm going to split the building for them and still have easy cleaning.
