woke up to find my rooster crowing, instead of sounding very loud. He sounds like a squeaky toy. He’s showing no signs of respiratory illness. No wheezing or dischard found. It sounds like something is stuck in his crop?!?? I gave him boiled egg and some coconut oil to help dislodge what’s stuck. What should I do?!??

I've had this happen a time or two and it resolved itself. As long as your rooster is acting fine without other symptoms I wouldn't worry. In the fall the sudden changes in weather can cause things to flare up. Migrating birds can also bring things through. See how he does. If he worsens you may want to find a vet for treatment.

I’ll keep an eye on him, so far no other strange behavior. I noticed yesterday he was crowing at a higher pitch than usual but I didn’t think to much of it. Today was a drastic change. Closest avian vet is a couple hours away. If his flock mates or him start to exhibit any more signs I’ll take him in. About how long in your experience before it should start to resolve itself?

You should see improvements within a week, but I wouldn't worry if it goes longer as long as it doesn't get worse. Seeing any signs of respiratory problems is when I would get him looked at.

No improvements. He now sounds raspy when he breathes. I’m treating whole flock for worms with safe guard tonight. Thinking it may be crop worm or gapeworm? His crop feels small and tight. If this doesn’t work I’ll treat for respiratory illness.
