Squinting while preening?

I have a 10 week old rooster. It's equally funny and cute but when he preens he squints his eyes. I'm guessing this is an instinct to ensure the little fluff balls don't get in his eyes. Anyone else ever see this? Is this common?

Yes you are correct, it is common to squint while preening, definitely keeps dander and such out of the eyes. Feel free to post a photo of your boy!
