Squirrels as predators

Our squirrels looove mushrooms, too. Protein source that you might not think of as squirrel food. We have grey squirrels where I live.

I've been putting out more sunflower seeds for the chickens this year and as a result, I'm getting squirrels (and Cardinals and other songbirds).
The squirrels and the chickens seem to completely ignore each other.
