Squirrels eating at feeders

our dog keeps the squirrels away so the hens can roam the yard eating all day.

but she(DOG) does like the scratch, too?

You need to find a way to exclude them, do you have rodent barriers using 1/2" hardware cloth? Like rats, squirrels will bite chickens, especially at the vent. Given a large supply of food, you can expect the population to multiply and if you have squirrels I;d suspect other rodents. Be sure to check your coop at night with a flashlight. You may not like what you see.
