We just moved to Missouri and the squirrel population here is abundant. It didn't take them long to find the feeder in the chicken coop and start devouring the food. I've started bringing it in during the day, but now I'm worried that the chickens won't be getting enough food. The chickens free range all day and are only in the coop to sleep. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest a soup. I believe they are supposed to be really good in soup. Or if you are if that isn't to your liking they make great dog food but I'd cook first.

Seriously I'd look at eliminating them if you do manage to kill one you can cook it up and return it to the chickens.

Secondly I hope someone whose chickens free range stops by as I'm sure they'll have more to say perhaps more helpful.

Well they don't call them rats w/tails for nothing.

What Bear Foot said sounds good. Also live traps.

Is there a way you can feed them before they go out in the morning and then when they come in too?
