I'm having a horrible problem with squirrels. There must be at 10 to 15 of them that come into the outer coop and eat the food. Sometimes I find an egg on the inside coops floor. When I open my door and bang the cans they all run. It's terrible! My chickens and guinea fowl seem to have no problem with them eating the food. How can I get rid of them? My outer coop is 10x12 feet and 10 feet high and it looks like this summer I'm going to have to cover the entire coop with hardware wire. My inside coop is safe but I leave the door open so they can lay their eggs. Help!

I use live traps and peanut butter on bread for bait. I caught 8 in 2 days with only one trap! Check with your local wildlife management as to what you can do with them! The hawks that go for the tree rats have also backed away. In season they are good eating,,,

I have many squirrels on my property.
Once one knows where the food is, they tell all their friends.
Set traps inside the area infested, dispatch all who enter.
Chickens love dead squirrel...
I still have many squirrels, just none who know where the food feeders and storage exist.

My suggestion would be one of these.......

Squirrels (aka tree rats) are a kind of rat..........

Builder participates on BYC now and then. Feeders are a sideline hobby business, but they do work.

Back when I was feeding wild birds, I used a squirrel proof feeder. It was the only thing that could defeat them.

Live traps and dispatch..
