Yesterday afternoon (maybe around 3pm) I had a chick hatch. The chick has a squishy and swollen abdomen and it appears to have a little trouble walking. I have left it in the incubator and just moved the other chicks to the brooder as soon as they are dry. Squishy butt is moving around in the incubator and chirping - which to me are good signs. I know that newly hatched chicks can go for 3 days without food and water. How long should I leave Squishy butt in the incubator? I don't have a spare heating source to set up a special brooder for the one chick.
P.S. I don't have any pictures of the chick, I don't want to hurt her by manipulating her for pics.
