I dont bury wire, I lay chicken wire on top of the ground 18" out and dump leaves, sticks and spent shavings from the coop on top of it.

I'm starting to see that in my research, I didn't realize folks were just laying it around the edges instead of burying it. Sounds like a great option!

Cool, did you use chicken wire or hardware cloth?

I used 19g 1/2" HC.
