Ss or welsummer?

Hello all! I saw someone had my same question and she posted pics. You all called in your ideas and 99% ended up correct as she posted again when her chicks were older. I'm hoping for your wisdom and insight. The breeder was unsure so here I am... what do you all think?

SS have white legs. I think Welsummers have yellow legs.

Thanks red horse ranch. I've read that SS have pink and Wellies have yellow legs, but I see both colors through their legs! LOL

So you bought birds from someone and they don't know what they sold you? Or they have both Welsummers and Speckled Sussex and can't tell the difference between them? Either way see if you can get a picture of them in natural light maybe against some green grass outside. The legs look pink-ish to me. But the birds in question look a lot like the Welsummer pullets I had years and years ago. Speckled Sussex at that age have large white patches usually.

That's what I was wondering.....bird could be a mix.

Looks like a mix of Welsummer and maybe Easter Egger? Egg color will tell!
