I have some speckled sussex/easter egger crosses in my incubator at the moment just for fun. what does crossing the blue green egg layers with the brown egged sussex do to the offsprings egg color? more olive green? both blue green and brown?

I've had 3 black australorp x EE hens. Two laid olive green eggs, one laid brown. And I don't know which parent was which.

That's the closest I've had to SSxEE. Keep us updated!

Most likely you'll get green egg layers....a bit darker shade since the Sussex will pass brown egg genes.

But brown or 'pink' layers are possible. EEs are so mixed that it really adds to the possibilities. I think they're great fun though.
