Congrats! My first chookie babies are about 2 months now.

Temperature is very important! I learned the hard way not to use an unconventional heat source. I believe this is why I lost one.

You seem to be doing it right. The brooder temp varied greatly with the room temp. As they get older, sunlight through a window works also, but you have to keep an eye on the temp (and the chicks' behavior). They will usually make some noise when they first become uncomfortable. I kept them with me all the time, but I think the brooder heater (not a light) got too hot and one slept too close to it. They were sleeping on top of it, which should have alerted me, but I just reconfigured it so they would go under it. Either that or she got smothered.

One gets up, they wake the others up and they all seem to get on the same cycle. Very convenient for close confinement. But my brown leghorn is more independent than the other breeds, often preferring to graze rather than gobble down the store-bought food like the others.

I never knew chicks could be as cute as kittens. In pictures they always looked like fluff balls but as their feathers grow they are just adorable.

Get pictures now, cause there isn't much time! They grow so fast you can almost see changes on a daily basis. If you don't have the next accommodations ready, better start building or shopping.
