The first time I've ever set my eyes on some beautiful 
chickens & 
's,was in Caruthersville mo,my mother had just moved us from the busy St.L,all my siblings hated it but it was the rich life for me,as I called.it was actually very poor down there but ,if you knew how to service it had its twist,my mother worked for these 2rich Caucasian women who treated us well & brought us fruit cake on the holidays,I loved it,with some of my mother's earnings she purchased atleast 6 to 10 mixed chickens &1 rooster or 2 roosters after some of my brothers & of course my mother building the coop,it was a funny looking thing but they did a marvelous job ,not long I had witnessed real live chicken eggs,brown,wow can you believe I cried when she first cooked some of them,any way I was only 11 years old & learning,but now I'm 51 & can't wait to get back into a house here in Georgia & get back to raising chickens & roosters & teaching my gbabies about that type of life & horses & fishing
