??St.Run or Roos??

Well me and my cousin are going together and buying our 1st Cornish X. We are wondering how much difference there is meat wise between the roos and hens? And is it worth the extra to get all roos?
Any advise would be great! Thanks!

Roos grow a LOT quicker than Hens. I ordered 50 roo CX's from a hatchery and 2 of them ended up being hens. The difference in how much they grow is NOT subtle. From my hatchery, I think the roos may have costed like 20-40 cents more, and it is way worth it to spend the little extra on Roos. Hope this helps

We usually order all males for the same reasons already given.

The only thing would be if you need some to be smaller- for example, I like my hens for fryers because if I fry up one of the giant breasts from the roos, the outside is overcooked before the inside is done. Sure, you could butcher some early, but if you're going to do that, you might as well get straight run. Six one, half dozen the other I guess.
