Stacked Quail Cages (poop on eachother)

Hi,

I am planning on repurposing my 50-inch high Rabbit Hutch into a Quail Hutch...

I am dividing it up into 3 sections..

Each around 16 inches tall...

My question: can I have wire flooring on all three levels? Currently, poop on first level falls on compost pile that I scoop out. Can the top two levels drop poop to flooring also? Would there be issue with quail pooping on each other?

I would prefer not to build poop trays but will if it is a must. All advice and options wanted.

There would be issues with birds pooping on one another. This could be eliminated by sectioning the tiers and adding collection pans.

I don't think the quail would really appreciate being pooped on. It also may spread disease.

I agree poop boards.

I remember reading about height issues with stacked cages. You may want to research that. Something about if quail have enough headroom and take flight they can hit their heads on the cage and potentially kill themselves.
