Staggered hatch *1egg

One just never pipped. Candled it real quick while I was taking everyone out and was pretty sure it wasn't alive. And sure enough it wasn't. It looks like it made it to about day 18. So I had one quit around 7 to 9 days and one around lockdown 🤷🏼‍♀️

The last one out came a couple hours after everyone else. It had been pipped for a while and it finally started to zip. The membrane looked weird to me. But it looked like it was coming out. Until one knocked it to the side. There was some sort of orangish brown juice in it. It's mouth started gaping and I was worried because it's mouth was now closer to the floor than on the top it would drown. So I poured all of the liquid I could get out of it out of the partial zip it already had and it spit some fluid out too. I put it back in there and it stopped zipping and was just breathing out of the hole for about 15 minutes. Then it started zipping again and came out. There was no blood and it seemed to have absorbed all of its yolk. But the little bag it was in was still attached. It ended up drying crusty from whatever that brown fluid was. So I bathed it with warm water and used a toothbrush to comb through its hair. Tried to keep it warm the entire time and then put it in with the others. It doesn't have the pep in its step the others have yet but it's had a rough go of its short little life. Hope it makes it. What causes that weird colored fluid? Almost like a mix of old yolk and old blood? Is this what everyone means by a sticky chick?

❤️ The little runt, and I mean half the others size, is hanging in there and I want to say perking up a tiny bit (it stands up, opens its eyes and protests finally)...🤞🏼

Also, first time using this. It smells really good but it seems really hard. I've been soaking it to start out.

The little one seems to be getting tiny bits of strength each time I take it out. I try to keep it under 5 minutes and just get some sustenance in. I'm going to assume it's like wildlife rehab and every 1 to 3 hours is crucial at first. And I guess that's the best I can do. The little bag turned to rubber so I snipped it and dabbed it with antibiotic ointment. No pain no blood so fingers crossed. I felt like I was about to make it to the end without this. No. Not the worst I've dealt with but the worst for the wear... I wish I understood why I'm ending hatches with a juicy chick. The brownish juice is new tho...
