My hen is currently hatching her first bunch of babies now. She's Been sitting since the 15th of last month I believe was the first dates on the eggs. Anyway, she hatched 2, only 1 survived. when I came in to lock them up she had a yellow peep peep under her. I swiftly moved the chick and remaining 8 eggs to a ground level dog crate with pine shavings and a infrared lamp for good measure. She didn't fight the move, was happy to take a few sips of the water I offered and gobbled up the larvae that I tossed in for her good work.
A day and half passed, she had another chick appear, this time black with a yellow belly. Cute as can be. Again, drank and ate the all flock I had offered her and her kids. Yellow was interested in figuring out this eating thing while ol b&y was content peeking out from under mother.
Next day, yesterday there was another yellow, same order of events as the previous day, except when I went to lock up the coop tonight, I noticed a shell that wasn't supposed to be there, lifted mother up and a little black and yellow was there, upside down, trying to get back to his feet. I helped the little guy turn over and I saw he was having a bit of trouble staying on the little legs. He kept toppling over, and mother was of no help. She wasn't very interested in his state of being compared to the other 3. Which I became worried about as she kicked him out of the way looking for some scratch grains I had given to another hen, also in the 'hen'firmary.
Long story short I grabbed the little wobbler, held him to the light for a bit on and off for about an hour, he seemed to have gained some strength, there wasn't any visible deformities and I sat him back down. I wrangled up mother and siblings and locked em all up in the crate. He goes to nestle under her and she kind of lets him in. His little foot was peeking out from under her chest and his twin b&y started pecking his foot, mother didn't seem to care, then the oldest yellow came to have a go. I swooped the little fella up and now he's with me, in a tiny tote with a lamp and a stuffed chicken in my garage. Lol 🤦🏼‍♀️ he has been napping, and peeping and napping and peeping. I feel like a jerk bc he needs chicken socializing obviously, but I don't want him to be squished when I go do chores in the morning.
What the heck am I supposed to do?

Thanks guys!!

It's normal pecking order behavior. The mother isn't going to step in, only if another hen were to come near her brood. I know it's always up in the air on the decisions we make if they're the right ones, if it were me, I would have left it, or go back out there tonight and shove it back up under the mama. It'll gain strength (getting out of the egg is hard work but it's normal for the other ones to peck at it, just as long as mama doesn't do the pecking (and they'll still give a light warning peck if the baby does something they don't like). I think you would be better off putting it back with siblings under mama tonight, vs waiting until daylight to try to put it back in.
