Yeah, I don't know if it was my best idea, but I took the eggs from my RP hen exactly 4 weeks ago tonight. At that time, there were 14 that appeared viable. 3 of them proved to be rotten, got rid of them before they exploded.
Because the other 3 hens were adding to her nest, the eggs were not all laid at the same time, and were laid as she was incubating.
So, they were apparently in different stages of development, even though visually none of them appeared to have any development when I took them.
So, I got one hatch Friday, one yesterday, one today, two externally pipped, a couple more internally pipped, and more further behind -- I just kept sticking the new eggs in there until I ran out of room and was forced to consign some to life as baked goods or breakfast.
