Stainless steel chicken waterers

You gave me an idea, so this popped into my thinking. A Stock Pot. Just drill holes and install nipples. New ones are all over the price range, but found this one reasonably priced. One from the thrift store would probably be less than $10.

Curious if this worked out for you? I can't figure out why nobody sells top fill stainless waterers! Was wondering if you were successful in making one that didn't leak?

I was giving suggestions to the original poster. I did not make one for self.
There are ways to install the horizontal nipples. To prevent leaks, you can seal threads with generous amount of Teflon tape. Teflon tape is used in house plumbing, for water that we drink. Not toxic to my knowledge.
