Stalking Fox

We have a fox that's been around a lot. I've never had my gun ready so he kept getting away without any real discouragement. I've tried setting some traps but no luck.

Tonight he was right outside our coop and I got a shot off at him but missed. Any chance that will scare him away for more than an hour?

Turns out there's a nice little owl out there too -- he definitely can't get in the coop so I'm not worried about him but he was scurrying around (I didn't realize owls scurry) so he almost got shot...

I'm pretty sure shooting owls is ILLEGAL.

Well, I think you're right, but the local game warden said I was ok to shoot.

More importantly though I have no interest in shooting the owl I just didn't realize it was an owl originally.
