Good morning all!
Earlier in the week when collecting chicken eggs I came upon a really large speckled egg. I didn't think much of it as I already have some hens who lay speckled eggs and are under a year old. I thought maybe their eggs were gettting larger and more speckled. Yesterday I collected an even larger speckled one, next to a duck egg and it was slightly larger than the duck egg. My chickens, ducks, and the pardoned Christmas turkey (aka, "Santa") all go into the chicken coop to sleep and eat. We made sure when we built the chicken coop door to be large enough for the turkeys and its 10'x12'. Anyways, last weekend I came upon Santa laying down on the ground panting and shivering but then later she was perfectly fine. Was she getting ready to lay? Please take a look at the egg to see if I'm correct in thinking she's started laying. Thanks! Top to bottom: egg in question, Pekin duck, chicken/

The top egg is indeed a turkey egg.
