I have a set in now and it looks like I may ont get any more

They are such different layers - seems the bigger they get the less they lay. Our Beltsvilles out lay the other 5 combined. They started laying right before Christmas and are still going strong!

Of the five hens laying this year I got about 120 eggs total. I dols a few, hatched a few. Anything that did not develop or developed and quit my pigs got the benefit of. Nothing goes to waste here I just wish they would lay about month more before they quit on me.

I sure hope mine don't intend to stop laying anytime soon. The breeder I got my hens from says his girls keep laying into July. I have my fingers crossed. I just love hatching turkeys. They're soooo mellow. I love snuggling them. Probably not the best idea considering their purpose, but I can't help myself. I'll probably keep a couple for breeding. It sure would be nice if they end up as tame as my current tom. He lets me hug him and kiss him on the forehead and stroke his caruncles. He's my big cutey-patootey. Sicko? Probably.
