Standard Mottled Cochins?

He does not ship eggs. If you are able to meet him at a show, have some shipped, or drive down you should do it. Standard Mottles are hard to find. If he has any for sale...I would jump in my car NOW for a trip to NY

I just wanted to say that Jamie helped out our 4H Kids last year with a Bantam Cochin Project and this year we are doing Standards. He is a wonderful man.
We dont have enough birds for the project this year and he is actually contacting other breeders to help the kids out.
It is just not everyday you find people who are beyond nice like that.

Standard or bantam?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw in your signature that they were standard. Now don't make me BEG for hatching eggs!

Since bantams are so easy to find why not get some black LF cochins and breed to them? It would take a little time to get the size back but wouldn't be hard at all. First generation would be all split for mottled. Breed these and keep the mottleds to breed back to the LF blacks and continue till size is where it should be.

Thanks to Jamie, I now have 6 large mottled juveniles (3 pullets / 3 cockerels). If the pullets lay well next year I may have birds to deliver to the Crossroads show in Indianapolis. I have been raising several varieties of large cochins for about 10 years now and am truly excited about this prospect. I'll post pictures when they mature and mottle a bit more.
