Standard of Perfection

I agree that I need to purchase a current copy. I was interested in the pages 3-38 that was recommended reading. ...and the wyandottes even though I can scroll through the standard on the wyandotte breed club page. I am a member of that breed club (If I'm gonna read it- I'll pay the privilege gladly).

I bought a new copy sometime last spring. I have used in many times, and the kids just love it as they can look up a chicken, and they we discuss the difference in breeds.
The first pages are worth every dime you pay for the SOP.

There are 60+ new illustrations, several revisions and one new species in three colors in the 2010 edition.

I was very disappointed to discover that there were no color plates in the 2010 edition for the Red Sussex, one of the breeds I am working hard to bring back up to the APA Standard............some have said no big deal, it's just a light sussex with red where the white is.........but still, I'd like to have been able to compare a red in the Standard to the ones in the breeding pens.

I don't know if it would have made a difference, but do you suppose they did not have a sponsor for that color?

I have been VERY interested in this thread. I'm saddened that you stopped, Mr. Miller. As for the physical SOP and what it contains, isn't that a bit off topic?

It was not my intention to silence Mr Miller & had that been my intention I was clearly unsuccessful.
What I intended, and achieved, was to prompt those lurking into joining the desired dialogue.
BTW-I only speak english. What exactly is involved in beig gobstopped?

Okay, okay, nobody meant to 'drive off' Dr. Miller. It seems to me instead of bantering back and forth about who's fault it was, we should try to convince him of the truth, that there is interest in this topic. Agreed?
