I totally agree! The star wars universe use to have continuity. Every book, tv show, game and such all fit together. The now extended universe is so much better. Want to be confused but read some amazing books, read the thrawn series. Awesome books! Love that series! But it does not fit with the Disney mess.

Eh. A lot of the stuff in EU wasn't great. The good bits are coming back into canon, even if in a modified way and all of that content is still 100% available if you want to go find it. (the Thrawn novels are amazing). We're now starting to see Old Republic era stories and Disney is putting a lot of money into developing that timeline and making it official canon again. JJ Brought Palpy back from EU in Episode 9. Boba is alive! Etc, etc... I expect to see that continue as Disney mines the popular stories and characters from Legends for future projects. Is that a bad thing? We get more stuff about the things from legends we like that way, and probably with far greater odds of it happening than when Lucasarts was in control and picking and choosing based on much smaller budgets and development opportunities. Dave Filoni was George's hand-picked successor. He and Favreau know what they're doing, and I'm loving the content so far. Episodes 7-9 were not written for me. They're written to hook my kids, and it worked. The small screen stories, new print content, and games are where the real stories in SW are being told right now, and all of that is in Filoni's hands.

I've been hooked since ANH hit my small town's theater in in '77. I remember the hype. I stood in line for midnight tickets to see Episode 1. The enthusiasm around SW has not been as big as it is now in a very long time, and I for one am as happy as a Jawa in a scrapyard for that. Is it the same? Maybe, maybe not. Is it still new stories and content for Star Wars? Absolutely.

My DH and DS1 are huge star wars fan and I'm just the supportive wife/mom. But the newer ones got me into them so, I like what Disney has done with it but I cannot speak for true fans. DH likes what they're doing, he has his own opinions but he loves movies and loves the whole starwars universe....clone wars, and the other one.......rebels? He loves all of it.
Mandalorian... and now Boba Fett(sp?).
