Starlight Green Egger

This is really neat! Beautiful birds! My Starlight Green Egger is a petite girl that's a light red with some white throughout and white down. I need to get a new picture of her but she's been unwell for a couple of weeks now although slowly improving. I think my SGE hen is one of my most friendly birds. She talks more than any hen I've ever known, always has. She lays a mint green egg and was a really good layer before this last annual molt and then becoming sick. Hopefully she'll fully recover and begin to lay again but if I don't get anymore eggs from her that's OK. She's such a wonderful bird

I thought I’d post an update.

Sam, although likely a starlight green Egger, happens to lag brown eggs. I don’t really mind, though.

I have 3 Starlights I got last August, and although they are a bit smaller than say, a barred rock or wyandotte, the eggs are larger than expected, I'd say large sized, and beautiful green colors, from mint to olive.

They have attractive cinnamon/copper colored feathering, yellow legs, a fairly large single comb, and a iridescent, green tinted ear flap.

I rarely handled them as young'ins, and they turned out to be friendly birds, eager to jump into my lap, or onto the bench I feed them treats from.

There are 5 starlight eggs in this pic ..... The lens doesn't do the colors justice .....

Is the chicken in your picture a hen or a rooster? I have a 5 week old starlight green egger and I was concerned it may be a rooster due to the comb size. What do you think? It’s the white one.

My SGE is a hen. I stink at sex ID, so hopefully someone better at this will chime in !
