Started building my first coop today

Started building my first coop today with the help of my dad and brother. I am new to keeping chickens and haven’t even yet gotten any. I have decided that I wanted a suitable environment for them to come to before getting them. Here are a couple of pictures I haven’t yet finished but I plan to put nesting boxes on the side where the door is. Currently as it sits it is 4wx8Lx3’4”T. I was unsure what was the best way to position the perch for them any hints or suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks -

I have a 14x20ft pen that I plan to leave them in while at work and when I get home I have a moveable poultry fence I plan to utilize for around my property and put the perch above the nesting boxes?

How many birds do you plan on getting?
Roosts across the corners aren't the best layout.

Thanks! I am located in Conway South Carolina. I was thinking of starting with 10(?) leghorns and RIR. I’m not sure how many my coop can hold. I didn’t think the corner was the best but I wanted to try to keep the manure away from the nesting boxes.

I wouldn't put 10 birds in a 4x8.
They need about 12" of roost length per bird.
Go with 8 birds and single roost 12" away from the 8' long wall.
