I picked up some new high-protein feed (24%) today and decided to finally try to also make fermented feed. By reading, its better for my chickens, and recudes my food bill.
I started a small batch of fermented feed with a dash of naturally fermented pickle juice that I had from a friend (best pickles ever!). Simple, now sitting in my ac'd computer room (garage is a bit warm, and so is outside. Didnt want to risk fungus/mold growth)
Decided to give some of the soaked feed to the chicks..
Every single one of their gullets is the size of a golf ball (their small, only 3-4wks old), and their all sleeping in the corner of their baby pool!
They have NEVER filled that much before, and even my hyper ones are docile.
