Started pullets

What are the odds that buying "started pullets" from McMurrays or another large company would give me hens that are safe around kids? Would it be better to just look for somebody who raises them from a bacjcyard situation where they're more likely to be handled from brith?

If I'm looking for started pullets in specific breeds, rather than plain leghorns (what's the fun in that:?), where dp I look?

There is probably a local forum in your area and they will most likely have some of what you need , or you could place an ad in the local paper stateing what you want.
