Started some tomato seeds today in eggshells!

looks wonderful! what a fun experiment.
a tip for next time: when you transplant next time, try and put them as deep into the soil as you can - just below the first two leaves (cotyledons). transplanting them down like that helps to make the stem thicker and make for heartier plants!

can't wait to hear how the broken up shell ones do vs the unbroken shell ones!

I tried starting seeds in an egg carton in my incubator, temps about 80degrees, they grew like weeds, after about a week they are about 6in tall and I put them in another pot, that's when they all died. the seeds were cucumber and tomatoes,I also did onions and they are still growing. Don't know what I did wrong, any ideas?

Seedlings usually do best when "hardened off" or given a chance to adjust to a new environment. So when you took them out of that nice warm incubator and then transplanted them you have them 2 major shocks. Next time, try taking them out of the incubator for a few hours at a time, increasing the time daily until they are totally out. Then transplant them maybe a week or so later. Easy does it when it comes to seedlings!
