Starter Feed for older pullets

I went to pick up feed for my 6 month old pullets today, and the local distributor only had starter at 24% protein, and layer. I usually get grower at 20% protein, and supplement with Oyster shell. I only have 2 layers in the group so far. I bought the starter at 24%, I hope it will be ok for them until next time I go. Any concerns I need to know about?

no concerns.

If you wanted to stretch it by mixing 1:1 with layer (which is what I do with my adult birds), the risks are extremely low and quite manageable in my opinion. Over the short term, the risks of mixing w/ layer is negligible.
