Hi all!
I am new to raising ducklings. In about a week or so I need to switch them to a starter/grower feed. My question is, the lowest protein I can find is 18% in my area. Is this okay? Can I mix raw oats with it? And if so what kind?
Thank you

x2. Niacin should be 55 ppm or greater in duck feed, especially if you have one of the larger breeds of ducks. Info should be on the feed tag.

Brewer's yeast has quite a bit less bang for the buck than liquid (TSC) or human b-complex vitamins, btw.(Niacin is B3) So if those are easier for you to get, go for it.

If you feed an All flock ( Purina Flock Raiser is one) it has the right amount of niacin for waterfowl and you’ll never have to change feed again just put out oyster shell for layers. But like was mentioned if you have a heavy breed like Pekin you may still need to supplement with some Liquid b complex their legs grow so fast. Welcome to BYC

Thank you all so much! I am giving them a niacin supplement. I do have a Pekin, and the other is possibly a Silver Appleyard( but not for sure yet)
They are 1 week, and 1 day old today!
I’m excited to watch them grow! They are so comical and smart!

Snow is my little Pekin. And Moe is my “silver appleyard?” ❤️
