Fenwick~Quilter
In the Brooder
hi fellow chicken enthusiasts
I live in Fenwick, Ontario~ NIAGARA (Toronto transplant) with my husband and 3 dogs The kids have flown the coop and live in Toronto. I have always been a rural girl at heart with camping, hiking, gardening, knitting, quilting, stain glass crafty stuff. I am an early retired nurse (icu/ccu). I don’t mind getting my hands dirty and I love animals. I have worked with horses and dogs. In our home we have 2 large, 1 medium reuse dogs. They like small dogs so I’m hoping they will be good with chickens. We have a large yard with forest behind and beside so I am also planning a large chicken run.
I’m excited about preparing for chickens so I am researching coop designs/options, seasonal considerations, especially winter, care and understanding of the needs for chickens. I’m looking forward to enjoying interacting with the chickens through my day; feeding, gathering eggs etc.
I have lots of questions that I hope old and new chicken owners will be able to help me out so I can get it right for them and me.
Great forum to join and share and lean!
