Hello.. Very soon I will finally be a chicken owner! After many years of not being able.. I will be a new home owner and out In the country where I belong!!! My kids are excited as well!!
I am looking for eggs and beauty.. The birds will be a part of the family. I'm am currently researching the different breeds.. Looks are a big thing but I also want to save money on buying eggs from the store. I eventually would love to get into breeding as a hobby. Any starting tips would be greatly appreciated. I am also trying to figure out the best way to build a coop. That's all for now.. If you need o know anything just let me know.

Yay! You are going to have a blast with chickens! They are relativly easy maintenance and loads of fun!

Go for a mixed flock- you will love the variety! Just watch out for chickens that are more aggresive towards other chickens. A great site I use all the time is this chart that breaks it down into all the info. Another thing to do is read, read, read! The internet will be your best friend- you can find anything on the internet it seems!

Good luck!
