Starting a new day without Smoking!

How wonderful to hear of everyone's triumphs as they quit smoking! I truly think it helps to just make up your mind you are going to quit and that's it. Don't ever think you can't do it. Think..you can and you will succeed. The mind is a powerful thing. I have such faith in all of you. It's nice to have such a great support group!

That was me just stopped smoking, almost 2 years ago still waiting for hubby to stop...it stinks when he smokes, its worse when his brother and friends come over and smoke....
Anyway stick with it,cause your child will thank you...

My child has been awesome all day... I keep telling here "mama is quitting baby... you gotta hold on with me..."

Amazingly she is not throwing any fits today, she's keeping my attention pretty good.... and if I get an attitude... even for a 2 year old, she doesn't cry or take it personal.... she actually points at me and say "Mommy quit"

Wow, so is awesome!!!!

Well, she's going down for her nap now, a little late... but better late then never. Now I just have to find something to entertain myself for the next hour. I keep coming back to the computer but I'm 2 fidgety to sit for more then 5 minutes... then I'm off into another room.

Yeah I'm on my second piece of gum... that really helps a lot. I am naturally kinda fidgety to start with, so this is just increasing that for me. I'm always picking at my nails and clothes and stuff.

In High school, I was best know for the one who always was biting her lip... I still do!!!

Hang in there all of you who are trying to quit.
My husband and sister who lives with us quit
almost 2 weeks ago. They are both on the patches
and so far they are both doing great, no cigarettes
for either.

I know you can do it.

My husband quit after 36 years of smoking. He tried everything under the sun to help him. He finally tried Chantix. Insurance wouldn't cover it but it was worth spending the $125 a month for 3 months for him to quit. I urge everyone to try it if I hear they are trying to quit. Follow the plan too

He has now been smoke free for 2 years and has never felt better. I used to smoke but quit when I found out I was pregnant and so thankful I never started again. I don't know how I would've ever quit on my own. Good luck! You have a ton of support from your BYC pals

Come on V you can do this! Be strong woman! I am so proud that your husband is going to quit too.

You CAN! do this.

My parents smoked when I was young and now I have asthma with 70% lung capacity. I finally begged them to stop because I couldn't breathe, and you know what, they did. My mom has been smoke free for over 30 years.. my dad he's off and on.

My FIL smoked for years and died of lung cancer. Subsequently my MIL who never smoked also had lung cancer...

Try the mint gum... run around the house when you get twitchy...

Call me if you get too weak!
