Starting a new flock in Reno

Thanks Elizabeth but I'm gonna place an order from MyPetChicken for delivery on or around 10/03. 3 RIR & 3 BR. I've got the brooder ready and will start the coop next wknd. I'm leaning towards watering with nipples...anyone have any thoughts? How soon can I start the chicks on the nipple system? Well...eggs in April.

Elizabeth, Have you or anyone out there raised Buff Orps for meat birds. What, in your humble opinion, is the best meat chicken we can raise here in Reno?

Love, love, love water nipples. Moved the 6 week olds to the coop last week and am using only nipple waterers. It's so clean!
