It's safe once it dries, and then as long as it's not ingested. I'd vacuum it afterward to make sure no particles were left behind from a drip or something.

We have two homemade built brooders. One is going out to one of the coops, and the other is staying in the house for the newly hatched as people come here to buy chicks. (I don't want strangers in my coops.)

So, once I figure out what color our living room is going to be, as it's under remodel too, then I plan to get paint and do it two-toned to match. The one in the coop, I'll not paint.

It depends where yours is going to be stationed what color may be best for it to coordinate, if any at all!

You got me thinking about the one in the coop, maybe I should paint that one beige to hide the dander from the other chickens.
