Greetings
For some unexplained reason I've wanted chickens for years. We live on a half acre lot and the opportunity came to grab 8 free Rhode Island Reds, so I jumped on it and quickly converted an old wooden shed into a coop. I'm in the process of building a nicer run for them. Our neighbours are too close to allow the hens to free range completely. They are laying 4-5 eggs a day. My daughter tells me that is normal. What isn't normal is that 2 of them have some serious bald spots. No roaster. I don't notice any bullying. I add ACV to their water. I can't see any mites on them.
