I'm going to raise my first chickens soon.

How long do Cornish Giants stay inside in brooder before going outside?

How much room does 20-25 Cornish Giants need for a brooder area before going into a tractor?

What temps can they go outside?

I did 25 in September/October last year. My brooder was 4x4 and was big enough for them until they were about 2 weeks old. They could have stayed in for 3 weeks if they had to, but they were starting to get pretty cramped. As far as temps, they can stand it cooler than regular chickens, but you still need to keep it pretty warm for the first 3-4 weeks until they get some feathers. The first week, they need at least 85-90 degrees in the brooder. I put mine out in the tractor at 2 1/2 weeks and the temps were in the 70s. They had no supplemental heat after 3 weeks and it was probably getting down to about 55 or 60 at night. Once they were 5 weeks and older, I didn't worry about the temps at all. They always seemed fine. I think as long as they are dry and have a place they can go to warm up if they do get cold, they could probably stand cooler temps.
